The 2nd wave has given young feminist like myself the strength and consciousness to be female within a contemporary feminist society. Throughout the decades they have continually driven the standards to which pro-feminist women must be held against in order to be true a feminist in American society.

In my young life I have worked and aspired to be half as influential as my feminist Grandmothers. It wasn't until I reached my Junior year of college that realized feminism in all it's shining glory was not at all perfect. In fact, the inconsistencies I found within it became more and more difficult to ignore. The 2nd wave brand of feminism had become almost militant in it's demand for female empowerment, to the point of questioning the capabilities of not only supporters, but young and upcoming feminists fighters like myself. Insisting that young feminists are incapable of promoting female advancement, or even existing for that matter, goes against what I thought feminism was in the first place.

Feminism is a theory....feminism must be put to question in order to be improved upon. Without upgrades in leadership and ideas, feminism will become as useless as my overpriced 1950's vintage prom dress.

Firsties...

I have finally manifested the courage to create my own feminist blog. The pressures of my ideas and thoughts are becoming far too heavy...in fact I have become some sort of feminist Internet troller, running around the web looking for something to add my 2 cents to. Although I have no idea what to write, I am answering the call to blog as a young feminist. Young feminists like myself are a surprisingly underrepresented group in the world of feminism. So I  guess I will sign off by saying we're here, we're proud, and we're ready to take over where our fore-mothers left off.
